Del Coronado San Diego
Glamourous Seaside Resort
in Victorian Style...
| |
Location
 |
The
luxury interior of Del Coronado Hotel San Diego conforms to
its exterior wedding-cake outlook. You can still see a uniformed
attendand running the elevator! This hotel has been refurbished
in 2001 and now offers the whole range of a seaside resort
facilities including health spa services, cabanas, pools,
fitness center and special kids programs.
Some curious facts: in 1958 The Del became
the shooting place for Some Like It Hot, starring
Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis. Have you heard
about the famous ghost of The Del - Kate Morgan? In November
1892, this lady checked into the hotel and five days later,
she was found dead on the beach, a gunshot wound to her head.
Apparently, Kate had killed herself after a quarrel with her
estranged husband. Since that time, resort guests, associates,
and even paranormal researchers have attested to the fact
that Kate's former room is haunted by her spirit.
